A:Start small and learn as you go. Make sure you can deliver what you promise before you start taking on big orders. Taking on too much too soon causes many small businesses to fail. To set your price first you need to know what your true cost are and this includes supplies, any equipment you must purchase and don't forget the most important thing, a fee for your time. Many small business owner forget to properly account for their time in the pricing. Figure how much you would be paid if you were doing a similar job working for someone else or check with other businesses to get their hourly rate. Then add that labor cost to your supply and equipment cost. Then you need to account for a profit (assuming you want to make money doing this task). As a rule of thumb, your selling price should cover your cost plus 40 to 50% more for profit. If you do big business you will also likely have some fees and taxes that will have to be added to your cost and be covered by your selling price. Good luck.

A:That it is really tough question to answer... As has been mentioned, there are a lot of issues that need to be carefully considered based on the state where you live, and the state where you intend to do business in. If you are in NJ, for example, the minimum corporate tax is $500/year. NY is only $100... That would make a huge difference to a small at home business, if your profits were say only $10,000 - look at the difference in tax coming out! Your accountant would be the best person to discuss your legal organization with - whether you want to incorporate (be it a Corp or an LLC) or if you should remain as a sole proprietor. For the remainder of this year though, you may consider just operating as a sole proprietor - there is only one more quarter of the year, and if you want to keep your books as simple as possible, keep your business and personal "tax years" on a Jan - Dec year. A:Have a friend become ordained or someone inexpensive do the ceremony. Decorate your home yourself. Have someone download songs and prepare a CD or MP3 player with the playlist to play non-stop. Have friends and family take pictures with disposable cameras. Go to Dollar Tree and make cute sweet favors yourself, have friends and family help since you're pregnant. Where a simple white dress or buy a used one. If you have time you can even ask places to donate. Go to a funeral home and ask them for flowers that were from the funeral or showing that the families were just going to throw out. Ask neighbors and friends for extra chairs. Use silk flowers and make your own arrangements from walmart. Get a cheap small glass bowl form Dollar Tree and put some marbles in the bottom and a goldfish or beta inside and use it as your centerpiece and give that as a prize to your guests. A:You have all the taxes mixed up. Having kids has nothing to do with it, or percentages or medicare etc. That all has to do with the taxes you file at the end of the year with the IRS. With a home business it first depends on the state you live in. Where I live, I pay state and city taxes only on what I sell to people in my same state. I report my total income quarterly for the previous three months, but only pay taxes for my state and city sales. When you pay depends on the business. I do pay mine to the state and city every three months, but it depends on the type of ownership. ie. sole proprietor, LLC, Corp and so on. Example, if I made $3000. in three months but only had 1 sale in my state I would report $3000. in sales but only pay maybe $2.50 in taxes. This information will all be given to you when you get your license from the Department of Revenue. You can walk in to one in your area or apply for the license on-line. And yes you can still claim EIC like I do.
