100% Q: How long before the MLS can be considered even with Premier league?
How long do you think it will take the MLS to be at the same level of the premier leagues (Spain, England, etc). Eventually the US will produce (already have a few) top rated players that can excel in the premireship. I would assume that since they are from this country they would make there money in Europe and come back to the US. Eventually they will come back in their prime to contribute. I think this will attract more overseas players. MLS is not far off from being considered a top level league. I do not think anyone can dispute the fact that they are close to it now. Premiership teams would not travel to this country during there preseason to play subpar opponents. They can get that from there own sub leagues. MLS is on the rise and I love it. 10 years ago I was embarrased by the level of play. Now I tune it all the time. I appreciate all the view points. As both leagues differ dramatically they both offer different styles. I truly believe that the premiership is a top heavy league; Spain, Italy, and england. Take Dallas, DC or New England and they would finish bottom of the pack, not relegated. The top teams are actually destroying the competition. Soon these leagues will have to adopt a salary cap, the money does not grow on trees. With that being said, the leagues will eventually become even. Whether that is 10 or 20 years. Thank you all for your responses. But we will never know until there is a world wide tournament. World cup does not count because a premier league team is always going to be better.
A:The european leagues have such a history that you are always going to have American players looking to europe. Take someone like Charlie Davies, I'm sure he could have signed with the MLS had he chose to. He was the number #1 player in the country at the university level, but he chose to sign with Hammarby IF. Recent Swedish champions yes but not a major power house. The lore of europe is strong. It's kinda like the old saying " join the army and see the world ". A player can grow both as an athelete and as a person by comming over to europe. And seriously, if you hadto chose between Columbus Ohio and Stockholm Sweden, the Venice of the North, where would you want to play ? In terms of the level of play in the MLS. There is a core group of people on this forum who are NEVER gonna give the MLS any credit, and perhaps getting to the level of the EPL is going to be a long time comming. However the MLS is far from being "crap". A few examples, Peter Philipakos was a star player for Olympicos. Played with them in the Champion League. Was selected to both the US National team and the Greek National team ( his parents are of greek origin ). This is the same Greek team that went on to win the European cup. Last year he tried out for the RedBulls and did not make the cut. Recently the LA Galaxy held an open try out. I think something like 1000 players were looked at. Only two were called back for a second look. One guy had played in the English Championship league and the other had played in Portugal's Liga. Neither made the team. Joe Zewe a star striker in Denmark didn't make the Chicago Fire roster this spring either. Realistically I think the MLS is about at the level of the Dutch League or the English Championship League right now and getting better.

100% Q: When will the MLS start playing in real soccer/football fields?
My favorite sport in the world is soccer/football, i love watching, playing, breathing the sport. I have a true passion for the game, and to me its insulting to see played on a stupid american football field. So does anyone know when all teams in MLS will have a real soccer stadium?
A:First let me state that I am American born and so are my parents and grandparents. This country is becoming so ethnically diverse, the sport is gaining traction, and the MLS league understands that we must grow the sport organically to make it a legitimized venue. This is why the EPL looks (and is) so successful on TV. The stadiums are not these gigantic Soldier Field / Ohio State stadiums, therefore they look and feel packed. This creates excitement and passion that the sport naturally generates. Sports highlights are very weak in this country when it comes to football (when they show it on a hand ball field with all the yard lines marked on the pitch). Football specific stadiums that the MLS is now pursuing will soon be the norm. I agree that it is annoying to see real football played on a hand ball (NFL) pitch. We are not a Mexico where football rules as it is the only huge sport and a great source of national pride. (That is why I love beating them at their own game). Come to Toyota Park anytime and join us in Section 118, cheering on the Fire, and see football at world class level. Go Blanco & McBride! The NFL is great league and will always be a part of the American experience. It just needs to return the name of our sport back to its rightful owner. By the way, do we realize how many world class athletes we loose to the NFL? All the resources, all the money, and only 70 million consistent fans, compared to billions in real football. What about the Olympics? If we put half of our NFL’s best in various events in the Summer Olympics in China, what would the medal count be then? Would China still be claiming they won? How about the other half of the NFL focuses on real football. They could make millions more yearly on a global scale, and be a household name in Istanbul and L.A. We would be exporting world class strikers all over the world to different leagues for colossal salaries like Brazil does now. Do we really need to focus so much of our athletic talent on a sport that no one really gets into everywhere else on this planet, except the 48 states of the mainland?

100% Q: Is it possible to share MLS real estate listing with others for a fee?
My partner is a listed NY real-estate agent who is not practicing for the past 10 years. We are working on some properties in NY and so looking for sharing MLS listings with others for a fee. My question is it possible? And is it legal to do this?
A:You should check with your local real estate board.

100% Q: What do MLS fans think of Freddie Ljungberg joining the new Seattle team?
I personally think that this was an OK buy for MLS, but I still think they are not doing it right. It depends, if MLS is overpaying for him, it's a bad buy, if it was a reasonable price, then it's an OK move. I think MLS needs to bring in Quality players from South America who are young, not players who are about to retire. But anyways, what do you guys think?
A:I think it's a good signing.he is still an injury risk.hopefully he plays well and stays healthy. he's still only 31.so I would say he has about 3 good years to play. I've seen him play before and he is much more dynamic than beckham.he takes people off the dribble more and he has excellent pace.also has accurate passing. I agree with you about the MLS scouting South America. I especially like the MLS signings of javi morales last season and andre rocha. that dejair dude in Chivas LA looks pretty good too. the MLS definitely has earned dividends from bringing in talented South Americans. conde also was a good signing.

100% Q: What is the benefit of listing a home in different the MLS in California if the home is not in that city?
I'm doing research for someone who is trying to figure out why it makes sense to list a home in the MLS for a different city or county when the home is not in that location. For example, a home in San Francisco would be listed in the Oakland MLS. If the person was looking for a home in SF, wouldn't they just go to the SF MLS? If there was a home listed in the Oakland MLS I would expect that home to be located in the city of Oakland. Can someone explain this to me?
A:This appears to be a distoration of the truth and would be a violation of the code of ethics and and lack of disclousre. When inputting a listing, it will have the name of the city and zip code and thats where the property should be listed.
