I am planning to build a house in the near future and I would like to know whether anyone has used any of the house plans that are sold through various websites. I’d like to know what their experiences have been. I haven’t built a house before and I’m not necessarily trying to save on architect’s fees. I have, however, seen some house plans online that I really like and I wonder whether there is any downside to using one of them.

A:www.eplans.com and www.dreamhomesource.com are good sources for a wide variety of house plans. Although it costs a bit more, you can even customize the plan, just as you would with an architect. I used several other options they provided such as getting a cost-to-build calculator, materials list, etc. that really made the process easier to understand. Check it out - it's just fun to look at all of the plans!

A:go ft. meyers go go to a builders site & find a plan you like... after it's framed check it at night they usually leave plans inside or walk up to a contractor & ask him to let you see them & go copy them

100% Q: What magazines had house plans in the 30s to 50s?

My grandfather built his own house in the 50's to 60's and he built it based on plans he found in a magazine. But I do't know what magazine. I would like to try to find these plans. Does anyone know what magazine he might have seen this in? What magazines had these? Someone told me it was from popular mechanics.. but I can't find anything supporting that popular mechanics had house plans. Maybe he found the plans advertised in popular mechanics? Any info would be much appreciated.. It's a fairly modern looking house.. it had kind of a craftsman vibe to it.. but it didn't really have craftsman design elements I don't believe..

100% Q: Can anyone help me find someone to draw up house plans in Canada?

We are looking for a architect or engineer to draw up house plans of a house we would like to build in Alberta at a good cost per square foot - less then 50 cents would be nice. We don't need the plans stamped and need to get these plans fast.
