free high school diploma classes
High school is the name used in some parts of the world (in particular Scotland, North America and Australia) to describe an institution which provides all or part of secondary education. The term originates in Scotland and spread to the New World countries as the high prestige that the Scottish educational system had at the time led several countries to employ Scottish educators to develop their state education systems. The precise stage of schooling provided by a high school differs from country to country, and may vary within the same jurisdiction. In parts of Australia and Canada, high school is synonymous with secondary school, and encompasses the entire secondary stage of education. High school can also be the point in life for many students where they mature and develop a deeper sense of understanding about themselves and the people around them. Alternatively, some students will undergo this transitional stage later on in life when they enter college or university, although this is usually a continued progression that originates in high school.....

Q: what is the best online course that is free so i can earn my high school diploma?
I am a 27 year old stay at home mom to one child that need to earn her high school diploma but i can't find any free online course that i can take while i am at home with my daughter. I would go to a regular course but i don't have anyone to wait my daughter while i am at class.
A:Good for you!! I hope this helps.
You will want to contact your local junior college or community college and find out what resources they have. Some will be free. In other words, you don't have to be a student to take advantage of them. Locally, our community college has free GED classes and tutoring. Ask them about online options.
Second, find out all of the requirements for taking the GED exam. When, where, cost, registration, etc.
You might consider doing your own study. This is called independant study, and I have used it to get through college courses. You can study for the test on your own while your child is sleeping or watching a video. Use the library, computer, and even DVDs to help learn the information necessary. This is almost always free!
When you feel you are ready for the test, hire a baby sitter for the test time and go for it!
You may be encouraged to know you don't have to ace the test, only pass! Good luck- you can, AND SHOULD do it!

A:I work for a Solano Community College in Fairfield, CA and this is what I observed. First, talk to a community college counselor. Ask the counselor information on online courses, fee waivers, financial aid, and how to apply courses towards a GED. I received a Pell Grant award of $4050, which covered the expenses my fee waiver did not like books and class materials. I see many students take college courses and then transfer the credits to an adult school for their GED.

Q: Does anyone know what the best and most inexpensive high school diploma program out there?
Im 24 years old and a high school droup out. I now have 2 childreen and understand how important it is to have an education. I want to get a high school diploma online but there are way to many to choose from and thay are not cheep i cant go to ged classes that are free because me and my husband only have 1 car and i dont have a babysister nor the money to pay one will someone please tell me what is out there?
A:It really is hard to tell. I suggest that you call a local high school and ask to speak with a guidance counselor. Explain the situation and ask if there is a program that she can recommend. This is probably the best way to go because you have someone local with experience in this matter.
My cousin did a program through the mail and it worked out really well for her. You may also want to consider this. Ask the guidance department; they should be able to help you.

A:As far as I know most areas provide the classes that you need for free./ Contact you local high school or school district office for a list. You pro ably have to pay a fee for the test. See if your State Education department has a fee waiver.
Below you will find an excellent GED information site.

Q: Are there any online-high school programs for adults?
I know it sounds silly, please don't make fun of me.
I'm in California, and I passed my High School Equivalence (CHSPE) exam when I was 16-- It is supposed to be the same thing as a diploma. I did it this way, because I got pregnant, yada yada yada.
Now being in college, a lot of classes (MATH especially, English and Science) are a problem for me.
I was wondering if there were any free high school diplomas or high school refresher courses offered online.
I am 21 now---
Once again, this is out of curiosity. Please do not flame or make fun of me.
A:1) It is not silly at all!
2) I think it is great that you are now attending college and you are serious about your studies!
Here are my thoughts...
It is not all that unusual for entering college freshman to need some remedial courses.
Your college wants you to succeed.
Many if not all colleges have programs in place to help struggling students.
Do you have an academic adviser? If you do, then seek out their help. It is very likely that your college already has programs in place that can help you. If you do not, then go to the Dean's office or Registrar of the school and ask to be pointed in the right direction.
***UPDATE: Not sure why "track_star" copy / pasted my answer. Weird and lame. But I guess imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
