I want to get something different... not the usual flowers, cards, gift cards, clothes, etc. Any ideas? She is an education major and will be working with special needs children at an elementary school.

A:What did she study in college? Will she be needing a briefcase? Will she have business cards? If so, how about a business card holder... A gift certificate to have a massage since she's worked so hard thru college... A really nice frame to put her diploma in... A nice frame for her picture... an evening at the restaurant to celebrate... a bottle of champagne to celbrate... Some really nice letterhead paper with her new initials following her name (if that's happening after she receives her diploma)... A portfolio to carry her resumés and reference letter to job interviews...

100% Q: What is a good college graduation gift for a girl who has everything?

I need to buy 2 different friendds presents and they both have everything they could ever need. Any ideas. Once is taking the summer off and not finding work right away and the other is going to Grad School in the Fall. I am a friend in the same age group as them. They are both from wealthy families and I am not. We live in NJ and once is getting an apartment in NYC from her father and the other is getting Grad school pain in full.

She is now a paralegal. I am going to her party on Saturday and dont know what to get. My cousin just graduated high school and I got him a $50 gift card to a grocery store to get food when he is at college, but this is different. I asked a couple of people and they both said a pen. When you think of a paralegal and they use a pen all day. I like that.

100% Q: Is it wrong to buy your daughter bigger breasts as a graduation gift?

Upper-class parents in the Dallas-Ft.Worth customarily treat daughters graduating high school to breast implants(unless they are large, where reduction would come into play. The boys get hot sports cars, and the girls get breasts. The parents presume that the girls, with the larger breasts, will be more popular college prospects, get more dates, and feel better about themselves in general. My question is, do you find this repulsive? Is this just on the same level as the obligatory graduation nose-job common years ago on the east coast(reduction, of course), or is it on a different level altogether? Are large breasts really going to improve things? Or are you creating a situation where these young ladies will become obsessive about their body image in later life, running out to the botox center when the first little wrinkle around the eys shows up? Is there anything normal about altering a minors appearance like this? Are we not obsessed with body image as it is?

A:I am a 24 year old female. If my parents offered me to get bigger breasts as a graduation present, I would be disgusted. Of course they are going to be more popular in college. They are more likely to lay down with a guy. That's why they are popular. They wont be known for being smart or athletic, they will be known for their breast size. If the boys are getting sports cars....get the girl one of her choice! If you get your own daughter breast implants you might as well get her a van with no back seats. Just a mattress and a disco ball. More than likely she will end up there. I don't know if you have looked at any of the studies done lately but it is not healthy for a young teenage girl to get implants. Nor is it healthy for anyone to get them. You wouldn't pay for your sons breast enhancement would you?? Then don't do it for your daughter. Save your daughter the embarrassment, and teach her self esteem instead.

I need some ideas for a small graduation gift for a friend who is graduating college, something different from the usual flowers, etc, etc

A:I guess the answer would depend upon how much money you want to invest in the present. What is the degree your friend has earned? If it's a teaching degree, maybe a gift card from a teacher's supply store or someplace like OfficeMax. Teachers always need supplies. It the degree is in business,then, a nice engraved pen and pencil set would be suitable. if the degree is in the sciences, like nursing, then, maybe a gift card from a uniform shop. Nurses need special shoes, and sometimes stethoscopes, etc. If the degree is in the Arts and Sciences (Liberal Arts), then, a gift card from anywhere- maybe a shop like Penney's or Macy's. The graduate may need some interview clothes. I hope I have given you some good suggestions.
