I am a high school teacher. Every year I get invited to college graduation celebrations for past students. I'm very proud of my students and want to get them a little something besides a card. The problem- about 10 kids invite me a year and I can't afford much of a gift for each. Any ideas for appropriate gifts to give them?

A:Money. My cousin is graduating in 2 weeks and I'm giving her money. When I graduated from college, I got like $1000 and other gifts I don't even remember. People know you need money. If you still have time, if people ask about the gifts you need, you can request that gifts be made to a certain account in your name. It's subtle and better than asking people directly. Let your parents do that. It's not a rude thing -- everyone knows that students need money. And a recent grad is looking for work and needs money. Don't be shy, it's expected, you just don't have to ask directly.

My cousin's graduation is coming up and i dont have an idea what to give her. I was planning to give her cash but i would rather give her something more personal and something that will really be useful to her. So please give me ideas. thanks!

A:i would give her something that will be helpful with whatever she is moving on to after college. Is she moving away? maybe she's buying her first house or starting a new job. gift certificates are always nice - even some for gas or something - maybe something for buying career clothes.

100% Q: How much money to my friend's son for college graduation gift?

I am pretty good friends with the mom but have only met the son twice. We have been invited to his graduation party. Is money the appropriate gift and if so, how much. Thanks

A:My brother received checks ranging from $20-250. The $250 was from family though. I say anywhere from $20-50 is good.
